The first membership type is reserved for companies that are incorporated as joint-stock companies, have a complex organization, and a legal headquarters in Italy. These companies must organize international trade fairs, meaning events that feature at least 15% of foreign exhibitors (either direct or represented), coming from at least 10 foreign countries or alternatively from at least 5 non-EU countries. Alternatively, the fair must host at least 8% of foreign visitors, or at least 4% of visitors from non-EU countries (as per the regulations of the Conference of Regions).

Additionally, companies that are incorporated as joint-stock companies, have a complex organization, and a legal headquarters in Italy, which manage exhibition centers hosting at least 3 international trade fairs each year, are also eligible for full membership.
